Navanti has a current requirement for a mid-career South Caucasus analyst to work with our multidisciplinary team to write reports, build data sets, and create multimedia products (e.g. podcasts) in support of our USG customer. In this capacity, you will be working with our customer, bringing to bear your knowledge and experience in the region to gather and analyze data pertinent to the media environment, demographics, and security affairs. As part of a multi-disciplinary team that shares your enthusiasm for Eurasian affairs and the ever growing social media landscape, you will be a self-starter who can produce well written analytical products that integrate disparate data sets using expert analytical trade craft. You will be responsible for collecting information from open sources including regional and other non-English news outlets, social media, blogs, academic literature, local contacts, and other sources and using that data to conduct multi-variate analysis. You will be expected to meet with experts from across the government, private and non-profit sectors as well as academia in Washington DC and internationally.
Qualifications
Education: BA minimum / MA or PhD preferred
Clearance: None required. Minimum SECRET preferred.
Experience: Significant academic experience covering South Caucasus, especially Azerbaijan, and media, counterterrorism, irregular warfare, or other related topics.
Language: Prefer language skills in one or more of the following: Azeri, Russian, Farsi
Required Skills: Open source intelligence & analysis (5-6+ years on regional affairs); Significant living experience in the region (3+ years); Foreign travel / deployments; Link / Nodal Analysis; Social Network Analysis; Media Analysis; Must be an expert writer
