Based in Washington, D.C., ACDI/VOCA is a nonprofit international development organization that delivers technical and management assistance in agribusiness, financial services, enterprise development, community development and food security to promote broad-based economic growth and vibrant civil society. ACDI/VOCA currently has approximately 90 projects in 40 countries and total revenues of $140 million.
We are seeking a D.C.-based Director to support our Community Development Portfolio to ensure that programmatic goals and objectives are achieved. Responsibilities include providing technical leadership in natural resource management, community-driven development and sustainable livelihoods; backstopping field projects; overseeing project deliverables; monitoring financial forecasts of current and potential project expenditures in accordance with USAID regulations; and developing new business opportunities through intelligence gathering, proposal management and technical writing.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a master’s degree in a relevant field, with at least six years of applicable international development experience, including at least two years in the field. Experience in management of USAID-funded projects and familiarity with USAID rules and regulations is required. Ability to work in French, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic is preferred. Candidates must possess strong oral, written, analytical and organizational skills.
