Chemonics International seeks an operations research director for an anticipated five- year, USAID-funded health systems strengthening and quality improvement project. This position will be based in Washington. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Responsibilities may include: Lead the development and implementation of a strategy for operations research (OR) in a complex, multi-country health project; provide leadership, management oversight, and technical direction for the project's OR goals. Work with program directors to develop, implement, and monitor OR strategy across a multi-regional setting. Develop and implement a global health OR strategy for quality improvement, knowledge management, and health systems strengthening. Collaboratively create and implement long-term programmatic vision. Serve as key liaison to international, regional, and national OR partners. Supervise local and international OR team and technical OR consultants. QUALIFICATIONS include: Advanced degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, health systems strengthening, international development, or a related discipline; doctoral degree preferred. Minimum 10 years of experience in global health operational research, including at least 5 years in a leadership position. Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary and multicultural teams. Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and versatility. Experience working in multiple resource-limited countries across geographic regions. Fluency in English required, with excellent written and oral communication skills; language capability in French, Portuguese, or Arabic a plus.
