Job Overview
Provides technical and consultative leadership for Consulting solutions opportunities on a range of complex engagements, focused on an industry or service offering. Responsibilities may include analyzing requirements, implementation, customization, integration and documentation for the customer, project management, change management, etc. Works closely with Sales, pre-sales, project managers, other consulting personnel, and the customer to ensure a smooth implementation and transition from start-up to integration/production mode. Has ability to lead solution and proposal development once project goals and objectives have been defined.
Plays critical role in the successful execution of all consulting engagements including evaluating customers’ strategic business issues, identifying requirements, creating business case justifications, and proposing appropriate enterprise solutions. Knowledgeable of industry best practices in the implementation of complex technical solutions. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills. Capable of working with minimal supervision and begins taking on a “player/coach” role in supporting/connecting Business Management and General Delivery and Technical Consulting needs. Proficient in critical skillsets related to delivery, architecture, project management; can perform independently and will often mentor others. Proven experience in successfully interacting with strategic customers at Management level, often required to participate in offering development and support. Has developed a deep understanding of one technology and/or industry area, and has good understanding of several others, inclusive of the methodology and approach required to successfully implement solution. Can actively engage with clients and leverage relationships to identify additional opportunities to advance relationship or service propositions
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Delivery of technical architectural design, strategies and plans for engagements
- Technical expert in leading pre-sales meeting or presentation
- Able to assist in creating proposals that address current and evolving client requirements
- Provides technical leadership during the implementation of proposal and engagement
- Participates in the installation, customization, and integration of an EMC solution
- Maintains awareness of existing or potential customer software/hardware/systems situations
- Works on complex projects and manages multiple work streams
- Defines and authors deliverables
- Delivers projects with approved methodology while adhering to margin, planning and SOW requirements
- Gaining experience in managing projects
- Ability to supervise staff and plan/assign work on project engagements
- Keeps Project Managers informed of all activities, alerting on risks and issues promptly
- Leads project quality assurance activities, including technical QA reviews
- Understands and adheres to proper escalation and change control procedures
- Validates requirements and functionality design and creates proposals that address current and evolving client requirements
- Provides testing process and issue resolution as point of contact for technical questionsAnalyzes and solves complex problems
- Communicates effectively and persuasively to varied audiences in different settings
- Ability to manage or function as technical lead on small to medium projects or work streams of larger, more complex projects
- Knowledge of one or more project management methodologies
- Ability to understand customer business challenges and provide strategy that addresses long term goals
- Can independently analyze large amounts of data, provide logical options, create and deliver correct documentation, high quality, analytically and technically sound work products and deliverables to achieve customer satisfaction
